I know I go on inspiration overload on trips but a few weeks ago I read an interview on the jenkem site that moved me a lot. as I try to make this film about our lives, being a skateboarder and not a filmer, I've been paying a ton of attention to everything I've been seeing or doing. what I've realized is I care so much more about how something feels than just the way it looks. that being said, it was a slight bummer that I would miss the detroit premiere of static iv. fortunately today I found out the Philly premiere was going on while my trip was out here. static iv was such an awesome example of something that gives off the feeling of what it was like to go through the tricks and situations in the film, and how the places in them felt. I'm spending a few days of this trip in New York and am super hyped I got to draw inspiration for it on a skateboarding and creative level at the premiere tonight. so long post ending, shout out @mystaticlife for inspiring a skateboarder from detroit in my own skateboarding and creating. much love!! you all killed it!!
Omg I was there!
Wow....thanks so much @jordangarlandmi it's incredible how things have a way of working out like that sometimes. Stoked you were able to see the video despite missing the Detroit premiere.
