Also why do people pop the shields off their bearings? Always wondered this during my 11 years skateboarding, haha. @ronniecreager
@stefanoaddis apparently not long enough. Two reasons.. Shields stop dirt from getting in, but also from getting out. If youre not trying to ride the same bearing for a long time, they will run smoother without the shields. It also sounds better.. And looks better, but thats three reasons. :/

@stefanoaddis shields also break inwards and break the bearing.
