Final breakfast in the kitchen at Masseria La Selva. Volunteering during this art restoration workshop in the heart of Puligua has been life changing. I'm so excited to be heading home to see my beloved family but I know a piece of my heart is staying right here. #messors

These two women have influenced my cooking so much over the past three weeks. Grazia, on the right taught me how to make orecchiette and capunti pasta and today made the most delicious meatballs and fettuccine for our Sunday lunch for 28 friends and family. Rosanna, on the left, has been my sweetest teacher and friend during my time here at the Masseria in Puglia. Quick to laugh and incredibly patient Rosanna and I have cooked and talked about food and life together in a mix of Italian, Spanish and English. My time in this kitchen has been beyond amazing.

We had a pasta making workshop yesterday here at the Messaria. Messor's founder Tonio Creanza invited his 82 year old mother Grazia to show us how to make the dough and form some traditional pasta shapes by hand. We made orecchiette, fettuccini, tagliolini, and a capunti that we served with a tomato sugo with wild foraged arugula for lunch. A dream come true.

Ripe peaches in the Masseria La Selva kitchen. We will eat these out of hand, with the yogurt that is made fresh on site at the farmhouse or for dessert macerated in limoncello and a bit of cinnamon. Sheer food joy here in Puglia. #messors
