mobileartistry - #MobileArtistry
Tonight's feature was collected by our contributor, Wilma @wilmawells72. #MobileArtistry is creative edits, beautiful images, unique perspectives, stellar shots, and happy accidents. IE, stuff you won't find on the pop page. Through this ongoing project we hope to expose people to art and artists they may not normally get to see, learn about one another's process, and encourage each other to push the limits of creativity. For the fastest reply, direct your questions to our admins, @computerjones, @momma2maxh & @yifatash. Thank you. Tonight's submission is from Jesper, aka @jesper_bulow, let's hear about his process. First I want to thank Mobileartistry and Wilma for featuring me and giving me the opportunity to give something back to other phonographers. I am also honored and proud to be amongst such talanted and brilliant artists. My editing process is kind of chaotic with a lot of going back and forth between different apps and when I am finished I often end up with no less than 10 to 15 pictures in various stages of edit. I take my photos with my Iphone5s and most often I use VividHDR. It is the fastest HDR camera app I have found so far and it is quite forgiving regarding camera shake. The editing process of course depends on the picture but basicly I always go through the following steps; 1. I start the editing in Photoshop Express and do croping, alignment and add some sharpness, clarity and contrast. 2. Handy Photo - test if the polarization filter is good or not for the picture 3. Snapseed - some basic enhancements. Add a touch of warmth, some ambience and contrast. I think snapseed handles contrast a bit different from PS Express and I like the combination. I then almost always use the HDR filter. I try the different variations and almost always end up with People or Fine. And after that I tune the picture again by adjusting contrast, saturation and ambience. 4. Handy Photo again - add Glow filter. Sometimes more, sometimes less. 5. I like texture and I often want a painterly feel and for this I use Glaze. I try different kinds of glazing and save the ones I think will work. Continued in next comment...

For the fastest reply, direct your questions to our admins, @computerjones, @momma2maxh & @yifatash. Thank you. Tonight's submission is from Louise, aka @louisewhiting, let's hear about her process. To compose the shot I used the rear facing camera in natural light. I cropped the image and adjusted the brightness and colour tones in Snapseed. ArtStudio is a fantastic app, I find I use it for nearly all my painterly images, here I darkened the lashes and added colour to her cheeks. I used my favourite painting app CleverPainter to create a very roughly painted version using Brush Style 8, I love the random strokes this app gives, it is totally up to the user as to the finished effect. Superimpose was used to bring back parts of the original image, then over to Stackables, layering using Mud Swirl and Tarnished, varying the opacity and blend modes until I was happy with the texture. Finally I finished up using iColorama to add a few details in the texture and then Snapseed for final adjustments to tone.

First of all I'd like to thank MobileArtistry and Wilma for giving me this opportunity. It's such a great honor to share something here ! I had the petals of one rose only so I took several pictures of them, differently disposed every time. My bath is small so we can see the sides in the original picture. Thanks to ArtStudio, I paint on everything I don't want to see and add gaussian blur. Thanks to masks I blend the pictures of the petals. The water was pink so I changed the tint. I saturated and darkened the lips to have a color similar to the petals. I desaturared and brightened the skin. It was inspired by a painting ("Les Nymphéas" by Claude Monet) so I added texture thanks to PicFX. Finally, I used my favorite IG filter, Brannan. Brannan is amazing because it can make a picture so haunting that applying it became almost systematic. It adds more contrast, enhances the lighting and finishes the blending process. Voilà, "The Haunted Lake."

Currently, I prefer the abstract style and like photos that looks like watercolor, where the colors flow into each other. I am interested in people on the streets and in buildings. This photo consists of 3 edited photos. My workflow has been: I have used iPhone and the app Slowshutter. Then I edited the picture in Snapseed and OilPainting. In MultiExpo I have blended the picture with another pictures and then edited it in Laminar Pro (Effectes: Tungsten) In SketchBookX I drew outlines around shapes.

For the fastest reply, direct your questions to our admins, @computerjones, @momma2maxh & @yifatash. Thank you. Tonight's submission is from Margherita, aka @_lunasognante_, let's hear about her process. This image has been processed in few steps, the edit is quite simple: I took this photo at the beach with the native camera of my phone (iPhone). I then put the image in blurfx where I applied the motion blur and then I patiently put in focus all the human subjects. I then opened the resulting image in mextures where I applied different layers (Lights, gradients, etc). As a final step I adjusted a little the contrast and sharpened the image in afterlight. That's all. :) Thank you deeply again Amanda and Mobileartistry for this feature.

For the fastest reply, direct your questions to our admins, @computerjones, @momma2maxh & @yifatash. Thank you. Tonight's submission is from, Gary, aka @garyedwardblum, let's hear about his process. This piece consists of two images. Across the street from my studio is a vacant lot. It's a hot spot for the locals to dump there unwanted treasures. On one particular morning there was a lonely little pile of tires sitting there, so I reached up over the fence and snapped the tire pic. I've also been painting for a show. During which, I'm always taking shots of the paintings in process that may inspiring me later or use for reference. The second image, a detail of canvas and painted/pencil lines, is one of those. First I used the Mextures app to convert the color image of the tire to b/w and used an emulsion filter to add irregular fades. Then brought it into Snapseed to add the background blur using tilt shift. After that, brought both images into the Union app to merge using multiply. There I adjusted the temp/contrast/brightness of both layers to a achieve the final opacity and tone. Thanks so much to MobileArtistry for the feature with a special thank you to Paula for finding me.

I usually go into editing a photo with no idea what i want to do. It's kind of an intuative procees for me. But for this one I knew i wanted to play with the colors in DeluxeFX with has a cool False Color Filter so I went into DeluxeFX and cropped the image. Saved the cropped image. Then added a False Color Filter #3, adjusted the clarity and temperature a bit. Brought it along with the original cropped image into Blender where I masked out the building so it wasn't pink. Added a number of layers in Mextures. Brought it into Brushstroke and added the S1(simple) paint to it and adjusted the density. Then into ScratchCam for some distressing. Finally I brought it into Snapseed where I toned down the saturation just slightly.
