Tonight's feature was collected by our contributor, Basia @basia_pro. #MobileArtistry is creative edits, beautiful images, unique perspectives, stellar shots, and happy accidents. IE, stuff you won't find on the pop page. Through this ongoing project we hope to expose people to art and artists they may not normally get to see, learn about one another's process, and encourage each other to push the limits of creativity. For the fastest reply, direct your questions to our admins, @computerjones, @momma2maxh & @yifatash. Thank you. Tonight's submission is from Olaf, aka @_thisisolaf_, let's hear about his process. Thank you, dear Basia for inviting me here and giving me the opportunity to show my work! It's amazing to see how mobile photography has evolved and brings out creative people everywhere around the world.. I always use my phone taking pictures. I don't think there's even an 'ordinary' camera around my house anymore.. When I take a picture, I always try and see something unusual in it. What happens then, is that the idea settles in my head and I have to execute it. So I take a lot of photos and use elements of those in my original photos. And because I think there's a lot of serious stuff going on in the world, I try to give a big wink with my photos.. Try to make them a little tongue-in-cheek... I use various apps for that, but my favourites are good old Snapseed and Superimpose. Oh, and you should know a great edit might look stupid the next day.. So I erase some of them after a few days, not being happy with them... The love for books is, I guess, a returning element in my photos. I hope you will enjoy this and look forward to see the comments and words from this great community. Greetings from Holland, everyone!

Tonight's submission is from Steve, aka @cooksbay, let's hear about his process. The title : "Et tu Brute" Hi everyone a big 'Thanks' to Yifat and Mobile Artistry for asking me to contribute here. First I should explain that I enjoy trying to create 'art' more than trying to take a great photograph. This maybe related to the fact I love art and the creative process and also that I am not a very good photographer! My preferred mode of operation is to take a photograph of a large relatively busy area with a lot of people (in an airport, train station, a street scene or any gathering) and then focus down on the individuals or groups of people to find someone that I find particularly interesting in their movement or body language. Then by the use of apps I try to create something that usually exaggerates that feature and when done best is virtually unrecognizable from the original photo. So I am looking to spark my own imagination and creativity as I 'play' with the image .... hoping that 'a story' will emerge from the distortions that I make ..... sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. But I believe I do my best work when that creativity is sparked. Certainly that is when I get most excited about what I'm doing. Continued in next comment...

Tonight's submission is from Cattis, aka @bws.cattis, let's hear about her process. First of all I want to thank Mobileartistry and Basia (and Will) for inviting me a second time, to share some of my editing tricks! I love your work and it's an honour to be here! If you visit my gallery you will find that there are two significant styles that are the most influential, street-photo and so called 'selfies'. In common all of my photos have one thing, except they're hundred percent mobile/iPhone, I always try to add a message, a story or a symbolic meaning, through out my editing. To me it's important that an image tells me something more, than just being pretty. So of course I have adopted that idea into my workflow. This image I made during a time of physical pain and this edit was a try to embody the emotional part it. I named it "Paralysed" and I let that speak for my state of mind at that time. Continued in next comment...

Tonight's submission is from R, aka @monoeilnoir, let's hear about his process. Thanks to Basia and Mobileartistry for presenting one of my pics to this amazing gathering of artists, a beautiful place to learn and share, to find inspiration. It's truly an honor. I shot this pic with "Pudding camera" (fantasy cam/monochrome). I used "Pixlr Express" for contrast and light + Effect -> subtle -> alex. Then i used "PicsArt" for the composition, playing with mirror, and "Snapseed" for the texture, using grunge effect. Then i went back to "PicsArt" for blendind it with a texture pic i made and insert the logo, add a last layer with blur/focal zoom/darken, then a little adjustment with light/contrast/colour. For the last layer, i used "Repix" to add the drops.

Tonight's submission is from Jolanda, aka @jolandarichter, let's hear about her process. First of all I want to say thank you for featuring one of my photos! Thank you for inviting me! I love portraits and the expression of bodys. I always look if I can discover something about the person and her past. What emotion is revealed by a glance or body language? After taking the photo the first is cropping it into a square - I like this form, also in my paintings, it's most neutral. My favourite app is Snapseed, where I start with 'Tune image' to give weight to the lights or the shadows. Mostly I use 'Drama' for a better shape of the body. Then 'Center Focus’, I love the blur and misty effect in some parts of the picture, that gives more focus to the relevant parts of the image. In this case I used a 'retrolux' filter, to make the shadows softer. When the photo itself has a lot of expression, I don't want to change to much with filters. It's more, that I try to lay weight on existing effects.

Tonight's submission is a collaboration between @the_other_side_reflected (image) & @rationalambivalence (poetry) let's hear about their process. Image edited in Snapseed using a combination of retrolux and grunge filters. β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜† It begins Like all of the most beautiful things, with A moment, in which I see through your Eyes, and you pierce my Defenses. For what seems like Forever, there is Connection, building, those things that we Will never say, are said, the raw Edge of your need is exposed, the full fire In this desire, It begins To spread across the distance between Us, now there is Us. We meet In the middle, stand inches apart, my hand Tracing the outline of your cheek, just Fingertips softly etching a path Down, along your neck, the curve of shoulder, the soft and tender Inside of your arm. The lighter the touch, the more it is like Electricity, rippling across the places at which Our bodies meet. Your mouth Rises up into mine, we are entwined and The sweetness of surrender pours between Our lips, there is no more Separation here, this is what it is to Know someone completely. Tonight's submission is from Marguerite, aka @libredelinfamie, let's hear about her process. Let me begin by first giving a special thanks to MobileArtistry for choosing my art. My reaction to the email of them wanting to feature me was: "OMG! OMG!" (A tad excited maybe?) I happened upon MobileArtistry by another account and with great appreciation for the art and artists featured I decided to open libredelinfamie. Your account has allowed me to grow and take my creations to another level. For this, I will be forever grateful. And now for the technical side, my process. In the creating of "AFTER THE PAIN" I began with taking a picture of myself with my samsung 4. I then transferred the photo to my iPad where the creativity juices flow. I started with the "foolproof" app: selected contrast then automatic paint. Next onto "effexy" to create the blended feel with handshake. I saved a few effects there then proceeded to "union" where I took one of the effects to blend it with the original. Moving right along, I then went to "PS express" and saved it to filters: 1. Orange 2. Sepia. Back to "union" again to blend the two filters on top each other to create the depth you see. One final step was with the app "mextures." There I used guest formula "almost vintage." All I need now is "square ready" to frame and my watermark. Violà! After the pain.
